The choice of gloves
When choosing motorcycle gloves, several key considerations can help you make the best choice for your needs: Material The choice of gloves is a matter of the leather or textile alternative. Leather is durable and offers excellent abrasion resistance. Textile gloves often have additional features than leather. These gloves notably have waterproof membranes or ventilation making them versatile in different weather conditions. Protection Gloves offering a higher level of protection are those with reinforced knuckles, padded palms and additional finger protection. Gloves with armor inserts made from materials like carbon fiber or titanium provide additional impact resistance. CE level 1 or 2 classifications defined by the European standard EN 13594 reflect the completion of specific protection tests (for more details, you can consult the information provided by the French government here and that provided by the United Kingdom government here) . Since November 20, 2016, the wearing of approved motorcycle gloves has been compulsory in the member states of the European Union and the EN 13594 approval label is mandatory. Fit and comfort A good glove fit is important to have the best comfort and control. Gloves should be snug and non-restrictive, allowing free movement of the fingers and a secure grip on the handlebars. Weather Considerations When it is hot, ventilated gloves with breathable materials are preferred. In cold weather, insulated gloves with waterproof membranes are preferred. Adhesion and control It is important that the gloves provide the best possible grip on the handlebars. Vibrations offers for rental and/or sale Five5 brand gloves, fully approved in France and in the member states of the European Union.Check out our other blog posts
